Non Accessible Content

The following issues have been noted and resolved where possible, however, a limited number of pages may still be affected. This website is built on the Jboard platform which is in use with over 750 job boards across 53 countries. Its functionality is continuing to evolve and we aim to address non-accessible content issues in future updates.

1. Success criteria failed: WCAG 1.1.1.

All non-text content that is presented to the user has a text alternative that serves the equivalent purpose.

Status:

The current software version has limited ability to provide text alternatives (Alt Tags). We understand that this will be addressed in future versions and will update this functionality when available.

2. Success criteria failed: WCAG 1.3.1

Information, structure, and relationships conveyed through presentation can be programmatically determined or are available in text.

Status:

We are limited by the current job-board software version and have mitigated where possible.

3. Success criteria failed: WCAG 1.4.3

Large Text – Large scale text and images of large scale text have a contrast ratio of at least 3:1

Incidental – Text or images of text are part of an inactive user interface component, that are pure decoration, that are not visible to anyone, or that are part of a picture that contains significant other visual content, have no contrast requirement.

Logotypes – Text that is part of a logo or brand name has no contrast requirement

Status:

We have adjusted and updated text to meet the criteria where possible within the limitation of the current version of the job-board software. Some non-compliant banners have been removed. Home page placeholder text style has been updated to black on white text to meet 1.4.3 and 1.4.6 contrast requirements.

4. Success criteria failed: WCAG 1.4.5

If the technologies being used can achieve the visual presentation, text is used to convey information rather than images of text except for the following: Customisable - The image of text can be visually customised to the user's requirements; Essential - A particular presentation of text is essential to the information being conveyed. Note: Logotypes (text that is part of a logo or brand name) are considered essential.

Status:

Since audit, we have removed any non-essential images that contain text. This included all owned banners on the website. Some buttons contain text that is essential to the function of the website. Where possible Alt-Tags have been added. The site contains third-party banners which may not be compliant. Where possible we have Inspected the HTML code of third-party banners to check if <img> tags contain any text within the alt attribute that might indicate the presence of text in the image.

5. Success criteria failed: WCAG 1.4.10

Content can be presented without the loss of information of functionality, and without requiring scrolling in two dimensions for - Vertical scrolling content at a width equivalent to 320 CSS pixels; Horizontal scrolling content at a height equivalent to 256 CSS pixels.

Status:

The website has been simplified to improve readability, navigation and to ensure as far as possible a consistent experience for all users within the constraints of the current software version. The core functionality of the website and purpose as a conduit for information and jobs in the sector has been prioritized. Recognising that most users will navigate to third-party resources for further information on the roles presented on this website. We recognise that areas of the website that require significant user engagement (such as Employer registration) require further modification to meet this standard.

6. Success criteria failed: WCAG 2.1.1

All functionality of the content is operable through a keyboard interface without requiring specific timings for individual keystrokes.

Status:

The navigation of the job-board is defined by the job-board software.

7. Success criteria failed: WCAG 2.2.1

For each time limit that is set by the content, at least one of the following is true: Turn off, adjust, extend, real-time exception, 20 hour exception.

Status:

The core functionality of the website is not time limited. Some messages appear on screen to confirm successful completion of actions and these are not time adjustable and relate to employer registration or successfully posting a job to this platform. This website passes the related Success criteria 3.2.1.

8. Success criteria failed: WCAG 2.4.1

A mechanism is available to bypass blocks of content that are repeated on multiple web-pages.

Status:

Our ability to enable a skip function on this website is limited by the functionality and structure provided by the job-board software.

9. Success criteria failed: WCAG 2.4.3

The Language of Parts: The human language of each passage or phrase in the content can be programmatically determined except for proper names, technical terms, words or indeterminate language, and words or phrases that have become part of the vernacular of the immediately surrounding text.

Status:

This audit was run on an earlier version of this website where Welsh and English text was presented bilingually. This has now been updated to English and Welsh versions of platform, in some instances bilingual content may still be essential, particularly within automated emails, however the core functionality has now been modified to help address this criteria.
