Chilly Cow Ice Cream is a family‑run business with a passion for quality food, local suppliers, and genuine hospitality. Following the success of our pop‑up café, running since September 2025, we are excited to have been awarded the tender to operate the new permanent café at Loggerheads Country Park.

Our café will offer fresh, simple, high‑quality food in a beautiful rural setting, serving a busy and diverse customer base. As we take this next step, we are looking for an experienced Senior Cook / Café Chef to join our growing team and help us deliver consistently great food.

The Role

You will work in a busy daytime service environment (including weekends), preparing and cooking a fresh, focused menu using high‑quality, seasonal ingredients. This role suits a creative cook who enjoys developing simple, well‑executed dishes and making the most of local and seasonal produce; being a strong baker is also advantageous. You’ll be organised, calm under pressure, and confident managing prep and service while maintaining excellent food safety, cleanliness, and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items to a high standard during busy services
Maintain consistency in quality, presentation, and portion control
Contribute to the development of seasonal and changing menu items
Manage food preparation, stock rotation, and ordering
Always ensure excellent food safety and hygiene standards
Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and running smoothly
Work collaboratively with the wider café team and management

Essential Skills & Experience

Previous experience as a cook or chef in a café or similar food service environment
Strong understanding of fresh food and simple, well‑executed dishes
Ability to work efficiently and accurately during busy services
Good knife skills
Strong kitchen organisation
Reliable, punctual, and team‑focused
Solid food safety knowledge (relevant certification preferred)

You’ll be a positive and enthusiastic team player who enjoys being hands‑on and supporting others during busy periods. You take pride in your work, communicate well, and stay calm under pressure. Have an understanding of rural life and Welsh language skills.

Additional Information

Work Base: Loggerheads Country Park, Ruthin Road, Mold CH7 5LH
Probation: 6‑month probationary period with structured training, competency support, and monthly reviews
Holidays: Statutory 5.6 weeks holiday (pro rata). Bank holidays are part of normal working days, in line with hospitality industry norms

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £32,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
