We require a Kitchen Assistant to work full time in our busy kitchens based in Gilwern and Brynmawr.

Working to strict legal requirements including health and safety, to:

· Adhere to the Rota prepared by the Head Chef/Cook/Kitchen Lead.

· Prepare food and general cooking requirements.

· To clean kitchen areas as instructed by the Head Chef/Cook/Kitchen Lead.

· To serve as instructed and record food temperatures.

· To load plates and utensils into the dishwasher and ensure they are cleaned to the correct standard.

· To collect trolleys in all areas as instructed.

· To ensure all items on that day’s menu are present and correct on trolleys.

· To empty bins and clean bin area.

· To sweep, mop and scrub all floor areas.

· Any other tasks as deemed appropriate by the Head Chef/Cook/Kitchen Lead.

· Maintain a high standard of hygiene within the home and adhere to COSSH guidelines.

· Maintain health and safety in the home by adhering to the company’s policies and procedures at all times.

· To co-operate and action requests from the Home Manager and or residents wherever possible.

· Report any damage or potential hazards to maintenance or the management team.

· This list of duties is not exhaustive, the post holder may be requiredto undertake other relevant duties as reasonably required.

Working Environment and other requirements

· Advanced Disclosure and Barring (DBS) check is essential.

· May be physically and emotionally demanding.

· Residential care is a 24-hour, year-round service and the role will usually require working 35-40 hours a week which include shifts, evening, and weekend work.

· Proof of right to work within the UK.
