About the role

We are currently looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join the Howards restaurant kitchen team.
At Howards we believe that teamwork is the key to success, so we operate our restaurant on a rotation basis, this means that the role is always varied and interesting.
One day you might be running our busy sandwich section, the next baking cakes and sweet treats, another day might be spent preparing our home cooked dishes, cooking our specials to order, supporting with the hotplate or helping with other general kitchen duties.

About Howards

Howards 200 seat restaurant is part of the busy Coed Y Dinas Garden Centre, situated in picturesque mid Wales.
Howards is not your typical chain garden centre restaurant, we pride ourselves on the quality of the food (most of which is cooked from scratch in house), honest pricing and delivering great customer service.

We operate sociable hours, and currently open between 8.30 and 5.30 Monday to Saturday and 9.30 until 4.15 on Sundays.

About you

Maybe you’re already experienced in the catering industry and looking for a new challenge, more sociable hours, and a change of scenery?

Maybe you’re just starting out and looking for an opportunity to learn and develop your culinary skills.

The most important things to us are that you’re a team player, are friendly and outgoing, adaptable, keen to learn and happy to muck in alongside the rest of the team.

Ideally you already have a catering qualification or some experience working in the industry, however neither of those things can replace passion and enthusiasm for catering, which is an essential requirement.

Excellent rate of pay dependent on age. Full training given.
