Position: Catering Assistant
Location: Vale of Rheidol Railway, Aberystwyth
Hours: Full Time (40hrs/week)
Salary: From £27,000 per annum

The Vale of Rheidol Railway is a historic narrow-gauge steam railway nestled in the stunning scenery of Mid Wales. With over a century of heritage, we welcome visitors from around the world to experience our timeless charm. Alongside our renowned railway journeys, our café is an integral part of our customer experience. We're looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team and help us continue delivering exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the day-to-day operation of our trackside café, including the preparation of fresh food, serving customers, making coffees, restocking, clearing tables and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.

Ensure café compliance with food hygiene regulations.

Provide excellent customer service, ensuring visitors have a memorable and pleasant experience.

Handle cash, card payments, and transactions accurately.

Person Specification:

Customer-focused: A friendly and approachable demeanour with strong communication skills.

Organised and reliable: Able to handle multiple tasks efficiently and manage time effectively.

Team player: Willing to support colleagues across different areas of the business.

Flexible: Open to working weekends and public holidays as required.

Driving Licence: Able to provide own transport for working at either Aberystwyth or Devil’s Bridge station as required.
