The Salusbury Arms is one of Wales’ 16 community-owned pubs, proudly serving the village of Tremeirchion and surrounding areas. Owned by the local community, the pub benefits from a loyal customer base, strong local engagement, and active stakeholder support.

This is a rare opportunity to manage a small, profitable village pub with genuine autonomy and year-round trade. Conveniently located near the A55, the Salusbury Arms is well positioned for both local customers and visitors.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Pub Manager to take full responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the Salusbury Arms. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards, supporting staff and volunteers, and working collaboratively with the community ownership group to ensure the long-term success of the pub.

This role suits a hands-on hospitality professional who enjoys running an independent pub and values strong community connections.

Key Responsibilities

As Pub Manager, you will be responsible for:

Managing all daily pub operations, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance
Leading, motivating, and supporting employed staff and volunteer team members
Delivering consistently high standards of customer service and presentation
Managing stock control, suppliers, margins, and budgets
Monitoring financial performance and maintaining strong cost controls
Planning, promoting, and supporting community events and activities
Working closely with the community ownership group to grow the business sustainably
Creating a welcoming, inclusive environment for locals and visitors alike

About You

We are looking for an organised, reliable, and personable manager with a genuine passion for hospitality.

You will ideally have:

Proven experience in pub or bar management
Strong leadership and people-management skills
Good organisational skills and financial awareness
A commitment to high standards of service and cleanliness
An interest in community-led or independent hospitality businesses
Welsh language skills (desirable but not essential)
Experience working with volunteer staff (advantageous but not required)
