About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Food Production Manager to oversee our bakery and food production operation in Deeside, North Wales. You will work directly in production during the early stages to set standards, embed best practices, and train the team, before transitioning into a more strategic management role as the operation grows.

This role is ideal for experienced chefs, bakers, kitchen managers, or food production leaders looking to combine hands-on production experience with operational leadership, menu development, and team management.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Operations:

· Lead daily bakery and food production operations.

· Hands-on in production to establish quality, processes, and team culture.

· Plan production schedules to meet demand and ensure consistency.

· Maintain food safety, hygiene, and health & safety compliance.

· Manage equipment and production efficiency.

Menu & Product Development:

· Develop and launch new recipes and menus.

· Research food and production trends and customer preferences.

· Align product development with business goals.

Recipe Documentation & Cost Control:

· Create and maintain recipe guides and production specifications.

· Standardise recipes, portion sizes, and methods.

· Monitor costs, manage waste, and maintain margins.

· Manage stock levels and supplier relationships.

Recruitment, Training & Team Leadership:

· Recruit, train, and develop production staff.

· Lead by example, motivating a high-performing team.

· Ensure adherence to recipes, production methods, and safety standards.

Food Labelling & Compliance:

· Implement and manage food labelling systems.

· Ensure compliance with allergens, nutritional information, portion sizes, and regulations.

· Maintain accurate production and ingredient data.

· Support audits and regulatory updates.

Skills & Experience:

· Experience in food production, catering, or kitchen management, with supervisory or management background.

· Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and allergen management.

· Experience in recipe/menu development, portion control, and cost management.

· Comfortable being hands-on in production while managing operations.

· Organised, detail-oriented, and commercially aware.

· Strong leadership and team development skills.
