Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis to join our culinary team. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations by assisting in food preparation and ensuring that the highest standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained. Duties

Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes as directed by senior kitchen staff.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
Support the cooking team in food production, including cooking, plating, and presenting dishes according to restaurant standards.
Help supervise junior kitchen staff and ensure they follow proper procedures for food preparation and safety.
Participate in stock management, including receiving deliveries and storing food items appropriately.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during service periods.
Continuously learn about new cooking techniques and menu items to enhance culinary skills.

Skills

Strong understanding of food safety practices and regulations.
Basic knowledge of food production processes within a restaurant setting.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while demonstrating excellent communication skills.
Passion for culinary arts with a willingness to learn from experienced chefs.
Good organisational skills with attention to detail, particularly in food preparation and presentation.
Experience or training in hospitality is advantageous but not essential.
