Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as a Butcher. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a busy farm shop and food production environment, handling high-quality meat products and maintaining excellent standards.

The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of meat preparation, from cutting and trimming to presentation and display. Previous experience in butchery is preferred; however, a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn are equally valued. This is a fully paid position, ideal for someone looking to develop a long-term career in the food industry.

Responsibilities

Prepare, cut, trim, and portion meat to a high standard
Assist with the production of sausages, burgers, and other value-added products
Ensure all meat is handled, stored, and displayed in accordance with food safety regulations
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the butchery area at all times
Operate equipment safely, including knives, saws, and mincers
Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and ensure proper stock rotation
Support the presentation of meat displays to maximise quality and sales
Follow all health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment
Work efficiently as part of a team, especially during busy periods

Skills

Previous experience in butchery or meat preparation is highly desirable
Knowledge of different cuts of meat and preparation techniques
Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
Confidence using butchery tools and equipment
Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality products
Good organisational and time-management skills
Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to learn and develop new skills

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: £24,420.00-£41,274.16 per year
