Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Deputy General Hotel Manager to oversee the daily operations of our prestigious hotel. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring exceptional guest experiences, managing staff, and maintaining the highest standards of hospitality. This role requires strong leadership, organisational skills, and a comprehensive understanding of the hospitality industry. Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to facilitate communication with diverse guests and staff.

Responsibilities

Supporting the General Manager in all aspects of the day to day management of the hotel including involvement with the financial performance of the business with budgeting, forecasting and cost controls.
Customer service, guest relations and creating positive guest experiences, monitoring customer feedback and service quality to ensure that any issues are addressed promptly and effectively to maintain customer satisfaction.
Recruit, lead, train and motivate a team to deliver excellent customer service and in doing so foster a positive working environment which encourages teamwork, job satisfaction and employee retention.
Coordinate staffing levels, managing schedules and ensuring optimal team performance during peak times.
Assist with the implementation of marketing initiatives, events and promotions with the objective of increasing new and repeat business levels and optimising sales.
Manage the team effectively, enforcing company policies and be actively involved in the day to day tasks of the team.
Take overall responsibility for the hotel in the absence of the General Manager, overseeing operations, the team and customer experience.
Assist in managing P&L, monitoring performance and opportunities for improvement.
Assist in developing strategies to improve profitability, reduce costs and enhance the guest experience.
Follow all food safety, licensing and health and safety policies.

Requirements

Proven experience in hotel management or a similar leadership role within the hospitality industry.
Supervising experience with a track record of motivating teams to achieve targets.
Strong understanding of human resources practices including recruitment, training, and employee relations.
Excellent guest service skills with a focus on delivering memorable experiences.
Leadership qualities characterised by decisiveness, adaptability, and strategic thinking.
Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly advantageous for effective communication with international guests and staff.
Knowledge of hospitality operations, financial management, and legal compliance in the hotel sector.
