We are recruiting for an exciting Assistant Food & Beverage Manager opportunity for the Quay Hotel & Spa in Deganwy, Conwy. Are you a positive, driven person? Looking for your next career challenge?

The ideal candidate will come from a hospitality background, preferably with a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role. Also, you should be flexible as this role requires you to work weekdays and weekends.

Job Purpose

To plan, organise, direct, and evaluate the operations of the Food & Beverage Department. Great customer skills are required to combine with management skills, ensuring labour and financial control are managed and maintained. Responsible for the smooth running of all Restaurant & Bar as laid down in the Standard of Performance Manual. To ensure the guests are served to the highest possible standard, whilst ensuring a consistent standard of service is achieved throughout.

Role & Responsibilities

Business activities:

preparing and balancing tills
taking responsibility for the business performance of all areas of the Restaurant, Bar & Terrace
analysing and planning Restaurant sales levels and profitability
preparing reports at the end of the shift/week, including staff control, food control and sales
creating and executing plans for department sales, profit, and staff development
setting budgets and/or agreeing them with senior management.
undertaking the role of duty management when required

Front of house:

co-ordinating the entire operation of the Food & Beverage department, during scheduled shifts.
control and support to assistant managers and their supervisors
managing staff and providing them with feedback.
responding to customer complaints.
ensuring that all employees adhere to the company’s uniform standards.
meeting and greeting customers and organising table reservations.
advising customers on menu and wine choice.
recruiting, training and motivating staff.
helping in any area of the restaurant & bar when circumstances dictate.

Housekeeping:

maintaining high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety.
checking stock levels and ordering supplies.
comply with all legal requirements in respect of health and safety, welfare of the staff and customers.
all staff of the company are required to make themselves available for training and communication meetings, for which advance notice will normally be given.
all staff must attend the fire training as required by law and to be familiar with the departmental responsibilities.
